The tax credit applies to the cost of the sidetrack system and does not apply to installation. Unlike a tax deduction which reduces the amount of income subject to tax, a tax credit directly reduces the amount of income tax you have to pay. Be sure to consult your tax advisor with further questions regarding the tax credit.
